What is the tournament bracket generator?

It's a tool to create a tournament bracket in seconds: type in the participants (2 to 32), hit "Draw matchups" and chance decides the first-round pairings. Then, as the games are played, you tap the winner of each matchup and the bracket advances them automatically until a champion is crowned — trophy and confetti included.

The random draw kills the eternal argument ("you gave yourselves the easy side"): the matchups are decided by luck, in front of everyone, and nobody can complain about the bracket.

When to use it?

How does it work?

The participant list is shuffled with the browser's random generator and placed into the bracket. If the count isn't a power of 2 (4, 8, 16, 32), the tool creates automatic byes: the lucky ones, also chosen at random, rest in round one. The whole tournament — matchups and results — is saved in your browser, so you can close the page mid-championship and continue another day. Nothing is sent to any server.

Frequently asked questions

How is the draw made?

The list is shuffled with the browser's random generator and the matchups are placed. Every draw is different and nobody can influence the result.

What if we aren't 4, 8 or 16?

The generator creates the byes automatically: the participants who get a bye, chosen at random, advance straight to the second round.

Is my tournament saved?

Yes, the bracket and results are saved in your browser (localStorage): close and continue later. Nothing is sent to servers.

How many participants can I add?

From 2 to 32. The bracket adapts on its own: from a straight final to a round of 32 with byes.

Can I fix a result?

Yes: tap the other player of that matchup and the bracket rearranges the following rounds. You can also wipe all results without redoing the draw using "Clear results".
